No Home

SheWasTheSun

This place is no home

Just a cage for my soul

I sit inside, alone

Waiting to feel whole

There is no comfort here

No peace, no rest

It only feeds my fears

And fuels my distress

A roof, some walls, a floor

Comparable to a prison cell

I come “home”, close the door

And enter my own personal hell

I gaze out the window

At the world- vast and wide

As I watch the moon glow

I crave anything but inside

I was bright, I was brave

I was wild, I was free

But inside this cave

I am everything but me

HOME - is where the heart is ! BUT - If your home had no heart it is (as you say) just an "empty cave". We all experience that sometime ! Every blessing. Love the structure of the poem - quatrains and a consistent abab cdcd etc rhyme pattern. The poem has great flow - Thanks for sharing - BRIAN
