Trigger

tedious

Pull the trigger

Feel a loss

My heart is beating

Yours has stopped

In a world of violence

And terrible things

Stop the bloodshed

And hear the scream

Is it worth it?

All of this loss?

The world is broken

Let’s stop

  • Comment from author about the poem: I believe far too much death is caused by guns, and that more restrictions need to be put in place. There are too many uneccessary deaths, due to lack of gun control. This is a plea, more than anything.

THANKS MISS "T" This is an important topic for a poem - GUNS ! I agree it's a major problem in the USA. I am always horrified when I see the gun shops we don't have them in the UK. For every 100 shot dead in the USA we only have ONE in the UK because of our Gun Laws. Trump wants to make it easier to own a gun - Hillary wants to make it harder to own a gun - who would you vote for ? The World is broken the sale of guns World wide must be stopped. Love your poem - love your attitude - Yours BRIAN

Thank you very much, Brian. I agree, it is awful how unrestricted the laws are. We seem to forget how powerful and dangerous they can be. Especially when seeing them in the media as something which is glamorous (i.e. in films such as James Bond (Even though I do love those movies)). That is very true. I would vote for Hillary if I was over there with the attitude of the lesser of two evils. Yet, I do prefer Bernie Sanders, and think it is such a shame that he is not as popular as the other two candidates. We just need to hope that good prevails!
