Pretty Lies

JustABird

You tell me pretty lies

thinking I won't notice

that the lies you fantasize

are without sincerity

You tell thunderous, deafening lies

hoping I won't realize

that all your beautiful promises

are without intent

But I hear it in your voice,

I see it in your stance,

these lies materialize

so you can get another chance

I don't want to be just some other girl

who fell under you spell

I want it all

But I know you're running scared

I get lost in the labyrinth

of the feelings that you hide,

buried behind smoke and mirrors,

pinched smiles, and pretty lies.

Who is telling lies to whom?
This poem is indeed a bunch of 'Pretty Lies',so CONGRATS!😁
In the first stanza the lies are a fantasy,
In the third stanza the lies materialize,
while finally you think that the lies are his defence to hide his true feelings...
    Do you lie to yourself?
Sort this out and Keep writing....

Thanks for your second poem. Unfortunately most Men are liars and we lie more easily (and as you say less convincingly) than most Ladies. I can't excuse it and unfortunately when our lies are uncovered it can destroy an excellent relationship. Love the chastisement of you poem and I will try to be much more truthful in future ! Yours BRIAN
