TIME IS PRECIOUS ! A Sonnet

BRIAN & ANGELA

The Sun comes up - the Sun goes down

The  hands on the clock keep goin' around

Twenty four hours is our daily gift

Eight sleep - eight play and an eight hour shift !

Yesterday's gone - forever

Tomorrow may never be mine

Work - rest and play - help me today

Just livin' one day at a time !

Time is precious - CARPE DIEM

Enjoy and seize the day today

Lots of special chances - seize 'em

Just for you - each single day !

Twenty four hours how do we use  'em ?

Each hour is precious so never abuse  'em !

I always have time to post a poem each day - enjoy - BRIAN

This is a 4 4 4 2  rhyming sonnet

The visual is from SALVADOR DALI'S CLOCKS

    Brian,
The visual is a bag inspired by SALVADOR DALI'S CLOCKS?!
    Timeless theme and inspiring execution.
Times flies over us,but leaves its shadow behind. I might explore this theme one day...
    Thanks.

THANKS LYSIS - For a very encouraging comment. I'm a performance poet so I do take time over the structure and content of the poem. I think a visual is important too and this one is very apposite. Yours BRIAN

Positive and Energizing Writing. I must admit, my time is split so many ways. However, a major focus is on health and wellness. What inspired this topic for ya?

THANKS DESPINA - I like to post positive poems and (as you say) positive poems give us energy ! I love DALI's Clock Paintings and knew I had a visual if I could phrase the poem. An old song gave me the first two lines and the rest followed. With a sonnet you only need 14 lines ! The thought that everyone on the Planet has a gift of 24 hours each day (from midnight to midnight) has always intrigued me !. It's how we use them that makes us "individuals" I try to NEVER waste time - OK. As you say TIME makes many demands on us each day - but we should always find time for poetry and empathy (TLC) ! Thanks for adding me as a Friend - I will look out for your nest poem. Yours BRIAN
