WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOOD ?

BRIAN & ANGELA

MY FAVOURITE FOOD ?
I reply with ease
Fish & Chips
and Mushy Peas
It really is a Northern treat
Wrapped in paper in the street
To good to wait 'til home you get
Fish & Chips - best meal yet !

My favorite food?
Fried Mississippi catfish fillets
That's the world's best play
A little coleslaw on the side
In that I can truly abide
Or sub in some good potato salad
Goes down smooth on the palate

If no Fish & Chips I'll have a bash
At a big plateful of Bangers & Mash
Bangers are sausage - English of course
With a massive dollop of HP Sauce.
What's my tipple ? Im no quitter
Make mine a pint of English Bitter !

Let's switch gears and have some Chinese fun
Love my fried rice and shrimp egg foo yung
Lotsa thick gravy poured from a big bowl
But first some appetizers, bring on the egg rolls
And while we're appetizing, get out the big scoop
Ladle me a generous helping of the egg drop soup

Your nosh is exotic my Friend DOUBLEDEE
American / Chinese is no good for me
We dont serve FOO YUNG down at the Pub
Ham Sanis and Pork Pies - Good British Grub !
The Chines eat dogs and the French they eat horses
And Indian Food has too many courses.
Indian Food can poison you too
You get the VIND and end up on the LOO !

Don't be so narrow. It's not really that dire
Try some Cajun food. You will love the Jambalaya
Take a chance and really break out of you mold
Step out on faith man and try the shrimp creole
If you really wanna move away from what you know
You can surely go to town with New Orleans Gumbo
Check out Mardi Gras and party out of your wits
When you're ready to eat go for Grillades & Grits

Wow Brian! Dogs and horses? Really? It appears that you don't care for much of anything outside of English cuisine. To each his own, but take a chance every once in a while, man. Live a little. Anyway, I really enjoyed the fusion exercise. Thanks for kicking it off!

We've used all our STANZAS thanks Doubledee - I have just had Bangers / Mash for me tea ! The US cuisine is so vast as you know - But we narrow Brits stick to food that we know - Thanks BRIAN

Just wanted to say I know what the LOO is (WaterLOO - the toilet). I learned that from Mr. Bentley. The English character on "The Jeffersons" TV show. LOL!! Thanks, DD

        • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks DD - Not many Americans know that - we live and learn ! Hope you enjoyed the play on words with VINDALOO ! BRIAN

          • DubbleDhee

Actually I don't know what "VIND" means. I'm not familiar with that term. 😎😎

            • BRIAN & ANGELA

Well remember that Brits are Europeans and we have to be fluent in European Languages and VIND is how the Germans pronounce WIND. So it is an aural joke. VINDALOO = ES GIBT IHNEN DER WIND (VIND) UND GEHEN SIE AUF DER LOO ! IT GIVES YOU THE WIND AND YOU GO TO THE LOO ! English jokes are always very difficult especially when they are spoken and not written. The JOKE (about VINDALOO) sound better in German than English - try saying it - OK - BRIAN

I enjoy so much sea snail eggs
They are so good for my health
                Protect me from cancer cells
And end the misery of my menstrual pains.

Thanks LYSIS - Love your comments ! Sea snail eggs (Pearls of Aphrodite) are indeed an anti-cancer agent and a pain killer enjoy - Yours BRIAN

I'm glad sea snail eggs have great health benefits because they don't sound very appetizing. But that's always the tradeoff with food, isn't it? Can't have it both ways. Bon appetit!

I know what you mean. I have read a lot of those dull confusing fusion poems
