GENTLENESS - An Acrostic

BRIAN & ANGELA

G ENTLENESS  is an outmoded trait

E veryone's shoutin' to get their own way

N obody says please or thank you no more

T hey push in your way and don't hold the door !

L et's all resolve to be nicer today

E veryone gentle not pushing - give way

N obody likes a Man who is rude- But

E veryone thinks it's a laugh to be crude !

S o I hope you'll agree we need more TLC

S o I'll be nice to YOU - then you'll be nice to ME !

  • Comment from author about the poem: We do live in an aggressive age - every Man for himself - and little respect for Ladies. I try hard to be a Gentleman but we are a dying breed. What do you think ? Yours BRIAN

Thanks for your comment ! I am a performance poet and I love acrostics and I love rhyme. Combining the two is not easy but in the end I find it very rewarding. Love New York City and I love the memorials to the much missed iconic "Twin Towers". I like the way the waterfalls flow endlessly down the black holes in the centres of the two memorials on the former bases of the Towers. It was stark but a fitting reminder that the souls of the 3000 TT Martyrs live on in our memories and in Eternity - May they rest in Peace. Yours BRIAN
