CLOSE ENCOUNTERS ..... ? A Sonnet

BRIAN & ANGELA

I first met OLAF and IGOR

In the Research Laboratory

They told me they were from Russia

They looked more Alien than Russian

No facial hair very dark glasses.

When they conversed - sounded Russian

Their notes were in non-Roman script.

It was their mental ability

To solve complex biochemical

Problems - that had eluded us

For years - that really amazed me.

They fed their data into unique

Lap-tops which gave elegant structures

Were they RUSSIANS or ALIENS ............. ?

To be continued ............................. Thanks BRIAN

This ia a  7 6 1  blank verse sonnet - OK

  • Comment from author about the poem: My BOSS Professor Boris Mugaloff (from BULGARIA) was very pleased with their contributions to our project made by IGOR & OLAF. They had been able to reinterpret and quantify a lot of our data related to Biosynthetic Pathways in plant biosynthesis which related to the colours and scents in plants. This work has many applications in botany - perfumery - cosmetic and colour chemistry. Boris told me they had applied to us via a friend who was a Professor at Moscow University He accepted them without reservation because they had brought their own finding ! Thanks for reading - BRIAN

I assume they weren't spies? The accents would be a dead giveaway. But they sound like something out of the movie "Men In Black." Did you work with Will Smith & Tommie Lee Jones? LOL! Thanks for sharing Brian!

Thanks DD a lot of my friends who have had CLOSE ENCOUNTERS in the UFO Zones do describe the Aliens they have seen as MEN IN BLACK and not like the ones who landed at ROSWELL ! I will reveal more tomorrow - there are only 14 lines in a sonnet ! Thanks for reading and commenting. There is very little commenting on this site which is a pity ! Yours BRIAN
