Somewhere over the Rainbow
Way up high
I'm sad watching the train go
Thoughts of you make me cry
Somewhere over the Rainbow
Now you're gone
Thoughts of you make my poor brain blow
Now I'm the lonely one
Somewhere over the Rainbow
Sun doesn't shine
Your leaving just made the pain grow
Now you will never be mine
Somewhere over the Rainbow
Forever your gone
Our plans for the future all lain low
I'm lost and alone on my own !

- Comment from author about the poem: Love the Song over the Rainbow from the Wizard of OZ always very evocative. This is about a GIRL - AMANDA - I loved and lost years a go. She love Rainbows and was herself as bright as a rainbow. Better (i always say !) to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all ! The linguistic challenge of this poem was to get "words" that rhymed with RAINBOW ! Thanks for reading - Yours BRIAN

"Better (i always say !) to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all!"
Brian,
You always repeat this, because it was Lord Tennyson who wrote it first in his
"In Memoriam A.H.H."( I love this poem) and I like yours, too.
Thanks LYSI - Well you know it's true as well as I do ! The experience of LOVE is as important as its continuity. Some "love affairs" are designed to be transient and it is often these that stir our muse ! Tennyson is a great Poet ! Pleased you like my ode too ! I will have more about the ALIENS tomorrow ! Yours BRIAN
Why don't you take a look at planet Venus? It is the most similar planet in our solar system in terms of size and structure to EARTH,but it is the hottest, with the Sun rising in the west and setting in the east.
Whatever caused this, send the population to different planets around the Solar System....
But let's focus in the lives of 2 people...(The rest en prive)
I enjoyed the write very much, so much is possible over the rainbow while reality plays out below it.
Thanks WILLIAM - That is so true - reality we cope with day-by-day but each Rainbow allows our imagination to escape ~ somewhere beyond it ! Yours BRIAN
First of all, I am sorry for your loss!
Secondly, I think you did a very nice job putting this poem together. It flows very nicely and the words are in good harmony 🙂
Thanks JESS for your empathy and positive comment. A good poem must have rhyme rhythm and resonance (harmony) Yours BRIAN
