Invasion and Évasion

lysistrata

You invited me to open the iron gate

You convinced me to unfold my crimson drape

Then you stepped on

Swept the mud off your boots

Broke the window and jumped off...

But you forgot all about Cerberus,my guardian dog.

Darling,I was too easy for your Invasion

But you can't run away...

There is no Évasion without Emotion

There could be no Escape without Redemption.

  • Comment from author about the poem: 1.Évasion is the French word for Escape. 2.I want to mix mythology with contemporary life. I might even twist the mythology?! I am not sure yet. This is the first draft..... Thanks to JohnLee for the inspiration.

WOW LYSI - I love all the genres appearing on MPS ~ Contempory - Fantasy - Mythology - SF etc ! I like to comment to show my appreciation of the effort all of our MPS Poets make to compose and then to publish. I love the imagery and innuendo in this poem and the inference (which all Men should heed) of "Non Evasion sans Emotion" et "Non Evasion sans Remboursement" Thanks for sharing and caring - Yours BRIAN
