LIBERATION

kaychee

One day I went diving
From a cliff of a thousand feet
Into the the deep blue sea
I was in love... Or at least, falling...

Splash!!!! Swallowing me
Engulfing my body, my being, me!

Dark, dark bottom
Beautiful blue surface
Sights you can't even fathom
Solace that will suffice

Sinking in
Drowning so fast
Suffocating
Anchor steadfast

Helpless...
Begging for freedom
Pulled into the sea so depthless
Still can't find the bottom

Where's my divine intervention?
Gold key hanging on my neck??
Shining bright but haven't been paying attention
A glimpse of the sun did it reflect

Liberation finally!

HI KAY - LOVE the visual and love the imagery in this poem and the structure and Rhyme & Rhythm of it ! 1000 feet ! I managed a 30ft Diving Board (with trepidation) and this is poetic licence. To dive from that height is "sky diving sans 'chute" and the depth of the water infinite. The "underwater world" is always breathtaking - the hydrosphere another Planet ! But we can't stay submerged forever and when we reemerge into the atmosphere it is LIBERATION. Thanks for sharing - Yours BRIAN
