Lessons

Kathryn Jessica

Teach me to love, teach me to scream.
Teach me to write how it feels what it means,
to be living like this, in this time and my place.
Teach me to say when I can't take the pace

Teach me to laugh, teach me to cry.
Teach me the answers to every Why.
And if you cant answer just teach me to hide,
from this hurt and the ache that I feel inside

Teach me to smile, teach me to weep.
Teach me insomnia to fear my sleep.
For night after night, your all over my dreams.
Teach me why nothing is how it first seems

Teach me to rise, teach me fall
Soon I will leave with no reason at all.
And when you ask why I dont need to explain,
teach me I won't come running back again.

Teach me to trust, teach me to fear.
Teach me the pain of each stinging tear.
And just when I find the will to let go,
Teach me to fear and how to say no.

I've taught you confusion, you taught me sorrow.
Now I leave you this gift that will fade by tomorrow.
For you taught me things I'll never forget,
Firstly desire, lastly regret......

WOW JESSICA ~ A big agenda for the Teacher ~ don't worry mine is similar ! Of course the Teacher is Life and every day she uses all the people in our various circles to teach us everyday lessons. Too often (especially with partners we love) we have lovely lessons but too often we are taught ~ Confusion ~ Sorrow ~ Gifts that fade and the unforgettable DESIRE and then REGRET ~ when will we ever learn ~ when will we ever learn ??? This is a beautifully crafted poem ~ seven perfect quatrains and rhyming couplets (my fave) The content is factual positives & negatives in the fluctuating experiences of life. Perfection ~ thanks for caring & sharing ~ Yours BRIAN
