A Dead Tree

Eeva

A dead tree is a lost soul,

It's limp branches,

It's dark, dead leaves,

It's bone dry trunk.

A dead tree sways with the howling wind,

It's roots no longer strong,

The tree is in a lush garden,

Stuck out like a sore thumb.

    Hi Eeva,

I like the opening stanza here it gives great imagery of a dead tree to the reader and then your descripts in the second stanza are spot on. I love tree's and blessed to have a forest close by where I walk most days. I felt your emotional sadness all through to see a tree in such a state, and I am with you on this .. Well done a pleasure to read and review another who cares about our beautiful tree's...... .Dee

Thanks EEVA ~ I think that I shall never tree a thing as lovely as a TREE ! My fave is a weeping willow reflected in a a lake. Consequently for me A DEAD TREE is my worst nightmare. A well written poem ~ thanks for caring and sharing ~ Yours BRIAN
