WAKE UP & SHAKE UP !

BRIAN & ANGELA

There's consistency in the Heavens

So why can't we be more like that ?

People on earth are at sixes and sevens

Much less contented than my dog and cat !

So why can't we be more like that ?

Happy and yappy and pleased with our lot

Just as contented as my dog and cat

Winning and grinning 'cos of all that we've got !

Happy and yappy and pleased with our lot

Not demented ~ contented an' smilin' all day

Winning and grinning 'cos of all we've got

Content with our freedom ~ content with our pay !

Not demented ~ contented an' smilin' all day

Wake up an' shake up ~ share what God sends

Content with our freedom ~ content with our pay !

Sharin' an' caring ~ makes things meet at both ends

Wake up an' shake up ~ share what GOD sends

Life is too short for gloom and for doom

Sharin' an' carin' ~ makes things meet at both ends

Fling open your curtains Let God's love flood your room !

Thanks for reading ~ Comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN

This is based on a Pantoum Structure where lines 2 & 4

in the first quatrian become llines 1 & 3 in the second.

I've used poetic licence an' changed some of the lines.

  • Comment from author about the poem: There is a lot of gloom and doom around ~ especially in Politics and the ongoing Terrorist problem. There is a silver lining in the UK because WALES beat BELGIUM (sorry Belgium) 3:1 and are in the semi-final of the European Cup. I love strong women and in addition to Hillary in the USA we now have Angel May (check her in wiki) running for PM in the UK. The strong women are rising to take the helm everywhere as in Germany and Scotland ! So ~ because of this I thought I should post a happy poem today ~ Enjoy.

Thanks DEE ~ loved your classical poem too. I am pleased you enjoyed the tone of the poem and I knew you would enjoy the mention of Wales awesome performance in the EUROPEAN CUP. Your comments always lift me up especially as I know they come straight from your loving poetic heart. Loved Daniel's Christmas Poem ~ please check my comment ~ loved yours. Hope you are pleased that a Spiritual Lady like Theresa May is the front runner to be our next PM ~ please pray for her at this "crucial decision time". Smiles to you too ~ Yours BRIAN

Thansk DAN _ yes DEE is a real asset to this site with her intuitive poems and comments. Thanks for your reply ~ if we all counted our blessings (in the UK and the USA) we would realise just how well off we really are ! Thanks for caring BRIAN

Thanks CAMILLE ~ I have visted several US States (To us each State is like a different Country with its accent ~ cuisine ~ geography & geology ~ ethnic mix ~ climate and of course attitude. In some places there is complacency and a feeling that you can't do much about it. But you and I know each individual counts ! Thanks Yours BRIAN
