Regrets.

salmaxx

Mistakes made, promises broken

Hearts torn apart, feelings shattered

Flesh cut, mind wanders all around

There’s no way out, no escape

If only we could turn back time, the choices we’d change...

Happiness felt, promises kept

Hearts intertwined into one, feelings placed

Skin touched with pure minds

I wish there were no way out, no escape

If only we could turn back time, the regrets we’d change...

  • Comment from author about the poem: I had lost a friendship with somebody whom I was very close to. The first stanza emphasizes how the situation is currently while the second stanza brings a totally opposite mood showing how things could be if regrets weren't made. So yes, it was a bit personal for me to write this, but I guess it made me feel better.

WELCOME SALMA ~ Thanks for a very personal ~ tender and cathartic first poem. REGRETS ! I've had a few and as your elegant poem suggests "time moves on and regrets are often impossible to revesre and we have to "move on". I'm a bit older than you and I often think back and say "if only". This is godd because it helps us to "learn by our mistakes (regrets) and move on ! Thanks for caring and sharing BRIAN.

I enjoy the juxtaposition and the feeling of coming full circle. Despair to acceptance.

Very well written. Well done 🙂
