Dark embrace.

camille

Dark embrace.

Oh tempestuous sea.
What secrets you harbour there.
Your inky endless depths ,
Brutal , without care.

As I gaze towards your dark embrace,
I envisage all you have seen.
Relentless, unyielding, unchanging through time,
Oh majestic, powerful queen.

You have stolen lives aplenty,
Relentless in your quest.
Ever seeking, ever hungry,
For you there is no rest.

I close my eyes, my final thoughts,
The pain of loss _ the cost .
So take me now, this willing soul,
I'm yours , for all is lost.

WOW CAMILLE ~ such a beautifully crafted poem ~ neat quatrains and consistent xaxa xbxb etc rhyming pattern. Poems about the sea must always have flow ! I was brought up near the sea and I have been on several cruises. And you describe the open ocean graphically ! Tempestuous ~ brutal ~ relentless ~ unyielding ~ unchanging ~ majestic ~ powerful queen and hungry ! The final stanza is a very powerful expression of (when all is lost) willingly surrendering you soul to the arms of your beautiful and hungry Queen ~ AWESOME ! Thanks for sharing ~ Yours BRIAN
