To… (written on a train to Nottingham)

AuburnScribbler

To walk, to observe,

To smell, to taste,

To run, to swerve,

To slow, to haste,

To stagger, to strait,

To wait, to cut,

To love, to hate,

To write, to foot,

To buy, to sell,

To give, to receive,

To station, to cell,

To enter, to repeat,

To eat, to drink,

To see, to hear,

To do, to think,

To embrace, to fear,

To drive, to travel,

To remind, to foreshadow,

To observe, to flannel,

To believe, to re-saddle,

To enjoy, to boost,

To talk, to share,

To leave, to roost,

To walk, to care.

WELCOME AUBURN ~Wonderful first poem ~ great rhythm. As I read it I was on the train with you to Nottingham a great City ! Great rhyme pattern (in most verses) abab cdcd etc ~ which added to the rhythm. Great choice of words many of them train journey related (observe ~ swerve ~ slow ~ haste ~ station ~ eat ~ drink ~ travel etc). The train really was your muse in rhyme ~ rhythm ~ vocabulary etc. I love this poem ~ Thanks for sharing ~ more please. BRIAN
