In the Garden

Eeva

Two single flowers in a beautiful garden,

Each one which I know so well,

One is a beautiful red, red Rose,

And the other is an good-hearted Daisy.

I am pressured to pick and choose one,

To keep, hold, and love forever,

But the real, biggest, question is:

Which of the flowers is the one that is right?

The Rose seems so perfect,

And I've always liked Roses

But Roses are Roses,

And Roses have thorns.

The imperfect Daisy I never thought to pick,

For I have never liked it from the start,

It's not my first choice nor do I like it,

But it seems like the best choice to pick.

Which still keeps me hanging,

And I still want to know:which flower is the right one?

The beautiful but thorny red Rose?

Or the white good-hearted Daisy?

Beautiful EVA ~ I am still single so I do make choices between the beautiful flowers in my sphere and community ! Some are as beautiful as Roses but come with thorns ~ some are as plain as Daisies but are never prickly ! Your poem paints a beautiful picture of the people we meet day by day and the choices we must make. Perhaps I want a wife just like my Mum who is a pom-pom Dahlia ! Thanks for a beautifully written poem with an intriguing message ~ Yours BRIAN
