We must correct this inequality
Of Britain reaching breaking point,
Wheezing out gestures of Apollinaire identity,
The philosophy has invited everyone to comment.
Leave so quickly and make everything changes
Surpasses restraint and go beyond belief,
Taking the giant step of ideas into new leverages,
Charging right past all the intricate grief.
A new beginning for change we shall have,
Britain breaking the beam of light
And the soul searching answer the nation gave,
Stretches out the day and the night.
But there is no end in sight for the blind,
Only marginalize the few who serve,
To stop the danger lurking before and behind,
They will find more skeletons are kept in reserve.
From laughter belies the facts of the heart,
It is a view held so strong in the north,
A very unfriendly place like some apparent Art,
With strange urge to break away into a different path.

Thanks GERRY for a very well crafted poem ~ presented in five quatrains and replete with rhyme and rhythm. The content is very apposite ! The 50+ (who have least to lose) voted 70 to 30 to leave the under 50's (who have everything to lose) 70 to 30 to stay. Such is the fickleness of Youth that we (I'm 33) voted in fewer numbers than the retirees. The tragedy is that hundreds of thousands of BREXITS (surely they are not all senile) now want to reverse the vote and allege "We didn't know what we were voting for !" S1. Says "We must correct this inequality ......... " S2. Leave so quickly ........ ? S3. A new beginning for change ....... ? S4. No end in sight ...... Skeletons ......? S5. A strange urge to break away into a different path ...... ? There is economic and political safety in numbers. The EU is much weaker without the UK and the UK is very much weaker without the EU. We have lost an excellent PM (let us pray it will be MAY !) and we may lose SCOTLAND with her Haggis & Bagpipes & Dancing & Lochs and Glens etc etc. Did none of the BREXIT voters give a single thought to the fall out ? Gove and Johnson (along with Tony Blair !) should be tried for TREASON. I am a European ~ Yours BRIAN
