Rampage

Izzi Lynn

Rampage
Rampage
He went on a rampage

The neighbors found her lying on the ground
Her breath was just a whisper
And they called 911

Rampage
Rampage
Five people live in this home
But one sits at an empty table all alone

Everyone pulls aside
To let the ambulance rush by
Paramedics dressed in white
It was late at night

Rampage
Rampage
Destruction everywhere
Tipped over toys
Smashed and shattered snow globes
Pictures ripped off walls

Emergency room for the unstable
Pale body strapped to a white table
Stainless steel, cutting edge tools
Try to close her open wounds

Rampage
Rampage
Empty picture frames
Holes on walls where photos used to hang
Her family's gone

She opens up her eyes after a thousand four forty
Told the coppers a scary story
"He hurt me bad" She said
"He was so mad at me" She said

Rampage
Rampage
That room is her personal HELL

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is actually a combonation of two poems of mine: Ambulance and Rampage. Rampage is talking about a really bad fight I had with my dad. He went on a rampage essentially and smashed a bunch of my souvenirs and sentimental toys. He also removed all the photos in my room because "I was in a mood to do something and he wanted to protect them". Which is BS, by the way. He's the one who ruined my life, and I'm taking it in stride. Anyway, he basically destroyed my room. Ambulance is talking about my fear that one day he'll snap and hurt me. That it won't be my toys laying broken on the floor, it'll be me. Also, the line, "opened her eyes after a thousand four forty" is 1440 minutes, which is 24 hours. So 24 hours later, after surgery she wakes up.

THANKS SILVER ~ For sharing your experience and fears. My DAD is a kind Man so I can sympathize but not empathize because I have never had such an experience. It must be awful to live in fear of the one who should love you most ~ but is so so destructive. Thinking of you and praying for you ~ Yours BRIAN
