A Light Life

KLyman

You find  two bags and label them the issue of the day.

You find rocks and fill them up.

You place one on your back, and say its my fault.

Then you place one on my back, and name it mine to carry.

If I set it down, you call it betrayal.

If I take the rocks out, you call me traitor.

If I ask why must we carry these rocks? Then, you call me contrary.

To find the bags is a choice.

To fill them with rocks is a choice.

To place it on my back is a choice.

I choose not to carry this any longer.

Life is too hard and too short to carry unnecessary burdens.

I choose live a happy life.

I hope you’ll choose to live a happy life with me.

I hope you choose to lay down your rocks.

Choose love, choose forgiveness, choose happiness.

Choose to live a light life.

WELCOME KLYMAN ~ Thanks for a challenging first poem ! Through our lives we choose to burden ourselves (often unnecessarily) and reduce the quality of our lives. The choices you suggest Love ~ Forgiveness ~ Happiness are fruits of the spirit and actually make our lives lighter. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ BRIAN
