G UNS ~ Kill and injure everyone Good & Bad
U nless America votes "Hillary" it can only get worse
N obody really needs a gun ~ If there were NONE
S anity would prevail ~ eventually and peacefully !
'N O GUNS in the USA would save 1000's of lives.
R OSES have been left in Dallas where the .......
O fficers fell in retaliation to the shootings.
S ilent tokens ~ too little and too too late !
E ssentially a symbol of Peace and Love
S urely the time has come to ban guns forever ?

- Comment from author about the poem: I love AMERICA and all Americans in the great blend of Peoples that you have created over the last 500 years. In many parts of America you all live peacefully and happily together ~ BUT ~ in some of the big cities there is always tension in the air. Because people have access to GUNS when that tension boils over thousands die each year. For me the Gunstores in the USA are a glimpse of Hell. I hope and pray that when 2017 dawns ~ an anti-gun attitude will prevail. We don't carry guns in the UK and our lifestyles are very similar. We are getting our water pistols and we are off to start a war....Which side are you on?
LYSI ~ When the police use Water Cannons to disperse a crowd they get wet but nobody gets killed. History tells me ~ the gung-ho philosophy of "I wanna have a bigger gun (bomb) than you" preveailed in the Cold War(1950 - 1990). If the USA & USSR had had an all-out Nuclear War you and I wou;ld not exist and the only habitable Planet in the Milky Way would now be as barren as the Moon ! The European immigrants into N & S America destroyed the Native Americans and the Incas & Aztecs by using GUNS against spears and archery. In the Wild West in the USA the GUN ruled. This is the immoral legacy that the USA Gun Lobby wants to cling onto and the result is 30,000 deaths by gun per year. In the UK (where guns are illegal) it is less than 100 ! Banning Guns in the USA would take time (and meet with a lot of HAWK opposition) but it is the only ratioanal solution. The use of GUNS in a legitimate War is a separate issue ! However water pistols on the Battlefirld would be a lot more fun and in WW2 it would have saved OVER 70 MILLIUON LIVES ! Thanks for your comment ~ BRIAN

I agree. When I saw the title of the poem, I thought of the book The Dark Tower, the seventh book in the Dark Tower series by Stephan King. For any of those King fans out there, you'll know... A gun is not a thing to be handled with carelessness. That's a recipe to be sent west, for you "have forgotten the face of your father".
anyway.
I was thinking of Stephan King, and his proficiency at writing horror. Sometimes the world is like a Stephan King novel. We just have to find in that maelstrom some modicum of hope, else all is surely lost.

Thanks REIVAX ~ excellent comment ! The answer is simple ~ Revoke the 2nd Amendment ~ Close all the gun stores ~ make possession oF guns illegal ~ disarm the US Police. In the UK we have 60 homicides per year by firearms in the USA (where guns are legal) 30,000 people die each year through guns ! The reason is obvious. Vote Hillary and dump Trump ! Yours BRIAN
