Silent scream.
There is a place where darkness dwells
Hidden , concealed from view.
My oppressor , my madness, my silent scream,
This I keep from you.
A little girl once had a heart filled with joy.
Brave new warrior forging ahead.
No sign of the blackness that haunts me now,
Childish wonder and awe both now dead.
I see the abyss but I don't want to fall,
Or to drown in a lake of despair.
I don't want to stay but not ready to go,
Scared to hope and yet frightened to care.
The world that I once saw as bright has turned black,
And destruction is all I can see.
Where money and greed are leaching the life.
Where one can no longer just ... Be.
I wasn't prepared for the darkness I found.
Alas I was sold a cruel lie.
It's a world where war and power reign
And innocent children die.
I want to shout, implore and cry ,
My friend this is not the way.
Man is not here to cause damage or harm
But instead to find joy in each day .
This is the scream that lies silent within.
The horror of mankind laid bare.
My madness, my sadness, my desolation.
My fading fabric of care .

Thanks CAMILLE ~ As always a beautifully presented poem. Neat quatrains and a consistent xaxa xbxb rhyming pattern which gives it great flow and rhythm. However the elegance of the structure is overshadowed by the stark truth of the message. Even sadder still it is so so true. We live on a divided and shattered Planet seething with political ~ economic ~ racial and ritual tension. "The horror of mankind laid bare # My madness ~ my sadness ~ my desolation # My fading fabric of care. However my feeling is that by being an encourager ~ I can make a difference ~ and if I pray about the inhumanity of Man to Man ~ I can be even more effective. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ Yours BRIAN.
It looks like Brian has said it all'
it is a sad and mad world we live in
but there is always hope so dream the good dream. WW
