For the Tree

asilentpoetspeaks

The grey clouds bring about a sense of despair
That you can feel with the pressure in the air
The clouds make the day seem long
As the bird finishes his burdensome song
The cool breeze brings a mist of rain
That reminds you of your own pain
As it begins to pour the bird disappears
And the rain mixes with your tears
The pebbles in the sidewalk begin to drown
All in the midst of your breakdown
For the bird was your only company
And even she left you for the tree

WELCOME SILENT POET ~ Thanks for sharing such an elegant and melancholy first poem ! Perfect rhyme (couplets) and perfect rhythm ~ we like classic poetry ! Sometimes the weather and the bird song and even the puddles and the pebbles match our melancholy mood. Grey clouds ~ cool breeze ~ tear drops and rain drops ~ breakdown and the sad bird preferring the damp and windswept tree to your crushed company ! I love this poem ~ it made me sad but poetically it is so so beautiful ! Yours BRIAN
