When we were young
we believed in fairytales
Nothing really mattered
Everything was playful fun
We never knew that life will change
That we will grow up
and face our demons
Wandering into a world
That doesn't make sense
Cruelty and violence
is happening each day
What happened to love?
Why must we grow in pain?
Where is the peace that we once knew as we were kids?
So much fear
and so many tears
With no one to trust
A constant battle to survive each day
We are all victims of damaged hearts
Tomorrow is never promised
and love is being used
The hatred and violence has kept us blind
Open your eyes
Open your hearts
We were once kids full of life
and now that we age
We forget that sometimes we must fight for our rights
To live again
To love again
and remember that love
will always remain
We forever are young.

WELCOME BELLA ~ Thank you for a classic first poem an awesome "Grito de tu Carazon" about all the terror in our World in the 21st C ! It was much more peaceful in the last century (1980's & 90's) when we were kids. Since 911 we are scared even in our beds. Yesterday in NICE (France) 84 men women & children mown down in cold blood by a terrorist is a 10 ton truck ~ when will it ever end ? To live again ~ to love again ~ Faith ~ Hope ~ Love and the greatest of these is LOVE. Thanks for carin' an' sharin' Yours BRIAN
