Every day when you leave the house,
And, you walk out the front door,
You wonder what kind of day you'll have,
And, you wonder what's in store.
You patrol the streets and meet so many,
And, provide a service to all,
Whether you're out there day or night,
You always answer the call.
You all do such a great job,
That I know I couldn't do,
From each and every one of us,
I just want to say thank you.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is very special to me. We don't realize how hard a job being a police officer is. I just want to let them know that we do care and we do appreciate every thing they do to keep us safe each and every day.

WELCOME TO MPS ~ Thanks for a beautifully written (rippling with rhyme & rhythm) first poem ! The subject is near to my heart ! I have friends in the Police and they pay a price of compassion and duty each day. They perform an excellent job ~ but their Job Description is: Dealing with anything that turns up ! Many are injured and scarred (mentally) on the job and some die on duty or because of it. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ BRIAN
