Clean

elphaba993

Take that pain

And slice into your very being

Let the shame flow out of you

Crimson and warm.

Let everything flow out.

After every drop is gone,

Maybe then

You can finally be clean.

I'm between coldness and clean, heck I go for clean

Thanks for sharing ELPHA ~ Sad but succinct. Our life is in the blood and for many "blood letting" is both symbolic and very cathartic. Miraculously it does replenish itself but it takes 10 minutes for our metabolic system to synthesise one molecule of HAEMOGLOBIN inside our bone marrow. Your poem ends with a stark conclusion "After every drop is gone ~ Maybe then ~ You can finally be clean" and of course DEAD. We only have one life ELPHA ~ it is a unique gift from GOD to be cherished and not extinguished. Every blessing ~ BRIAN
