Do You Remember That One Night?

amaranthinedreams

Do you remember that one night?

I do.

Do you remember how we thought we were in love?
I do.

Do you remember when we kissed on the couch with mad eyes?
I do.

Do you remember that one night?
I do.

Do you remember how we were drunk on the thought of being together?
I do.

Do you remember how you told me that I was the stars to your moon?
I do.

Do you remember that one night?
I do

Do you remember how it all changed?
I do.

Do you remember how you told me you couldn't do it anymore because you couldn't feel it?
I do.

Do remember that one night?
I do.

Do you remember how I pointed the gun to my head, struggling to pull the trigger, struggling to say goodbye to you.
I do

Do you remember how I said I couldn't do it and that I would rather fucking kill myself?
I do.

Do you remember that one night?
I do

Do you remember how I pulled the trigger?
I do

Do you remember how you cried and felt awful for causing me these feelings?
I do

Do you remember that one night?
I don't.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is my first poem if you can't tell. I love poetry and love how the words can swallow you until it is over with, so I decided to make a poem. Unfortunately it isn't as good as a lot, but again it is my first one. Thanks for reading if you did!

WELCOME AMARAM ~ Thanks for your great first poem. The repetition of ~ I DO ~ gives the poem structure and flow leading to the ultimate I DON'T which effectively closes the form. The subject complements the structure "Unrequited Love" culminating in DEATH ! Thanks for sharing ~ awesome. BRIAN
