1933

OhMyGoshLouie

My eyes deceive me with the things that I've seen the dreams that I wanted to live to be his equal to walk among him and his family to have cheeks as rosey as a flower garden and skin as white as snow, hair as bright as the sun in July I always ask why can't I drink the water fit for kings why do I constantly have people give me stale looks of hatred oh how I wish to walk among the pale faces as a equal instead my people are as insignificant as a beetle we will survive strive and prosper from here on our dreams can only get bigger one day I'll be looked upon as more than just a nigger.

Welcome ~ thanks for sharing your first poem. In EUROPE 1933 was the Rise of the Nazi Third Reich (1933 - 45) and the worst Racial Hatred and Cleansing (6 million Jews etc) the World has ever seen. If you weren't a WASP you didn't survive the Holocaust. Martin Luther King had a Dream but died in a hail of Bullets in 1968. Barak Obama has done his best and (so far) has escaped the bullet. If a bigot like TRUMP gets elected ~ GOD help America. I have friends of every colour ~ for me (Like MLK) it is the quality of their character that matters. Every Blessing ~ thining of yoiu ~ BRIAN
