Friend-Making

Eeva

My parents really love me,

I know this for a fact,

But whenever they say "I love you",

I just smile and nod my head.

They really do love me,

We're as close as anything can be,

But sometimes their actions just don't follow their words,

And I'm just left alone and confused.

I know that they will always be there; right there and glued to my side,

But sometimes they just don't know,

What's it's like to be me

Alone and down in the dumps.

They will never understand 'cause they always had friends,

Ones they could always count on.

But I am just different. Different and alone,

Something they'll never understand.

They think that friend-making's easy,

As easy as counting to 10,

But they never had that problem,

So why should they know?

What it's like without any other friends.

Great poem as always EVA ! Friends are not easy to find and even more difficult to make "best friends". I agree my Parents have lots more friends than I have or ever will. To have a Friend you have to be a Friend but you must find someone first or be part of a group. Our Generation is much more mobile than previously. I make Friends (M & F) but they move away or get married etc and the friendship cools and dies ! Lots f people I work with don't live close and people are in and out of jobs more often ! At least we both have Friends on MPS and that is a blessing ! Yours BRIAN
