When words are soft

Tony36

Water is soft

Yet

It can mmake grooves

Upon the Earth

Those grooves

Become mighty rivers

Water is soft

Yet

It can tear down moutains

Tear down trees

Tear down homes

Water is soft

Yet

It can wash away cars

Cause sinkholes

To engulf the land around

When words are soft

They can

Break the hardest of hearts

Turn enemies into friends

Stop the wrath

Stop the rage

When words are soft

They can

Heal the broken heart

Calm the hurtling

Tear down emotional walls

Thanks TONY for well crafted wise words ! The BIBLE says "A soft answer turns away wrath" But
remember water can be hard as well. Hard water causes scum and furs up kettles and pipes. Also remember water (in the form of ice) tore a hole in the side of the Titanic (causing it to sinkj with the loss of hundreds of lives ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN

      "It can mmake grooves": correct...

Your poem brought memories of the FUGEES song :
"Killing me softly with his song,
Telling my whole life with his words,
Killing me softly with his song."

Personally,it depends from whose mouth the words are coming from...

Nicely done! Very perceptive in its approach. The message is well taken. The book of Proverbs speaks of the power of the tongue.
