Your hearts pounding through your chest you don't know what to say,
your instant heathy breathing
to drown out the words delay,
even though we have a right to speak
were told to keep it shut,
if we were ever to speak up we'd need a lot of gut,
im going to stand up now I've made my choice,
I can make a difference now that I finally have a voice.

- Comment from author about the poem: i have written this my self and it means no matter who you are or how important you are you should be able to make difference in your life without anybody making the choice for you .

Awesome write, and so true in what it says
WELCOME LILY ~ Thanks for a challenging first poem. well structured replete with rhyme (pattern axax bb cc) and rhythm. This makes it a pleasure to read and recite. Subject is as important as structure and I like the one you have chosen. Finding ones voice and actually using it ! Hopefully we find our voice at school (by the time we are 16 !) and we have the courage to use it throughout our lives. I was encouraged at school to speak up and defend my own beliefs and opinions and ideas. We should never stifle the independence of a child ~ just because they are a child. We should all be entitled to air our own ideas and choices. Thanks for sharing a great poem ! BRIAN
