S P A N I S H H A I K U ~ with translation.

BRIAN & ANGELA

PAJARITOS NEGROS

VOLARE EN EL CIELO

MIRAN LA BAILARINA

Little black birds

flying in the sky

watching the ballarina

SOLO Y CANSADO

PERO TRANS LA VENTANA

BRILLA LA NIEVE

Alone and tired

but behind the window

the snow sparkles

DOCENAS DE PALOMAS

ALDREDOR DE UN MENDIGO

Y UN TROZO DE PAN

Dozens of pigeons

around a beggar

and a piece of bread

  • Comment from author about the poem: Spanish Haiku have an excellent "voice" due to their vowel endings. Say them out loud and compare with the English. I love Spanish Poetry. I apologise to the Haiku Purists that they are not always in the classical syllabi mode 5~7~5 but these are "Haiku with Attitude" ~ OK ~ BRIAN

Very interesting Haiku in Spanish. I've written Haikus before, but not in Spanish. Have done a great job in Spanish.
