Pretending

elphaba993

Even through messages

I catch myself forcing a smile

Though you can't see me

I just can't let the facade drop

I can't let anyone see

I'm supposed to be so goddamn perfect

So happy all the damn time

I live a charmed life

Didn't you know?

Everything a girl could possibly want

Or so it seems

I live in a world of fake smiles

Pretty watches to hide the blood

Cold porcelain after too much food

Because a girl's gotta keep her figure, right?

The colors

The gaudiness

The glitter

They all hide the truth

And I'll go on smiling

Pretending

Even after I'm dead.
