Phoenix

Izzi Lynn

The stars, they burn
as they teach me to how to stand tall,
stand tall and strong against the wind.
Even when the stars burn my body,
I know I'll be fine.

The stars are burning up my body,
I'm ash and dust and smoke.
The stars are burning up my body,
I'm dead and alive and suspended in time.
The stars are burning up my body,
I'm victorious, a phoenix rising from my ashes.

When I'm was in doubt and things were getting hard,
I sought the stars, said: "Polaris guide me."
And they all said: "Follow your path and believe.
You've got enough courage bottled up inside you,
so let it explode!"

Now the stars are burning up my body,
I'm ash and dust and smoke.
The stars are burning up my body,
I'm dead and alive and suspended in time.
The stars are burning up flesh and bone,
I'm victorious, a phoenix rising from the ashes.

I wanted to run but instead turned around and stood still.
I sought out the stars and asked Polaris to guide me,
and he taught me to stand tall against the wind.

I'm a flame feathered phoenix,
and I'm alive again.

Thanks SILVER for a great poem of hope and perseverance ! This is my experience too. If I stand firm in times of adversity I will survive the flames and like PHOENIX I will rise again ~ from the ashes of defeat and despair ~ BRIAN
