Chasing Rainbows

hopelessjuliet

When I have no idea who I am,

Or what I want.

I’m just trying my best.

To do the right thing,

Be the good guy,

the one who deserves the happy ending.

But I’m getting sick of chasing rainbows

That clearly don’t exist.

Why work so hard just to end up where I was before?

Tired and completely alone.

What’s the point of wishing on a star?

When I know it’s all about to come crashing down.

If pain is how we gain things in life

I don’t want any part of it.

It’s been raining for a while now

So I’m just biding my time until I become

that person you need me to be.

After all, I still don’t fit that cookie cutter mold.

Faith, hope, love. The greatest is love. We must go on and enjoy the present and hope for the future. We must stop chasing rainbows and look in front of us and see that the blessing is there; around us.
