Go for the Gold

Like our Olympic champions,

Who go for the gold,

All of us can do the same,

If we are so bold.

 

We need to think positive,

And, say yes we can,

Because we can do anything,

If we have a plan.

 

You too can be a champion,

If you do what you're told,

Then you can walk with your head held high,

Because you won the gold!

    Thanks AP for a very positive and encouraging poem. Lovely structure (rhyme and rhythm ) and a great statement. In the UK (especially since 2016) we are all very keen on the OLYMPICS and have set ourselves a target of 40 medals. We seem well on track with six golds so far and a clutch of silver and bronze. If I can speak for myself ~ I think success in the Olympics for GB and success in other sports does give the whole nation a lift. I have met people who have taken part in the Olympics and the effort they put in to qualify ~ day after day ~ is mega and they need our respect and support just for taking part . They are great role models for Young People ~ Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN.
