You left without a trace
As if it were to be a race
You left your 8-year-old daughterwithout a father to her
name
And who else to blame, rather than you
Who left her blue
I used to cry myself to sleep
Thinking where did I go wrong
Was your hatred really deep?
Couldn't you just hang along ?
All the other girls
They have fathers of their own.
In this lonely world
Maybe I'm just prone to be alone.

WELCOME ADRIANA ~ Thanks for a beautifully written poem full of rhyme and rhythm ~ a beautiful structure for such a sad sad subject. The effect of divorce and separation on the Partner is bad enough but it is devastating for the Children. Every Daughter deserves a Daddy ~ indeed every Daughter needs a Daddy for their mutual pride and fulfillment ! Your poem outlines the situation perfectly form the perspective of an 8 year old Girl. She even blames herself "where did I go wrong ?" If this is autobiographical thanks for having the courage to share. I'm 33 and I still need my Parents so I know how you must feel. Thanking of you ~ BRIAN
