Thomas\'s Face

Reneekyker

Chains come in many sizes and shapes
Wall to wall carpet, furniture  and drapes
Carpool and laundry and PTA
Worries about what people will say

Children and siblings and friends on Facebook
Housework, errands and having to cook
A ring always there on your left hand
Football practice and soccer and band

Going to work and paying the bills
Insurance, lawyers and and making a will
Doctors and dentists, haircuts and shop
Mowing and mulching that never stop

Then, one day you find the magic key
The one that unlocks the chains, you see
Then everything seems to fall in place
The key for me was Thomas's Face

"The first time ever I saw His face ... !" Thanks you for sharing another beautiful poem RENEE ~ beautiful in both style and subject. When we meet our true love ~ the image of their face is permanently etched on our mind and heart. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ It's 7am here (UK) and this was a beautiful poem to wake up to ! I love the concept that the vision of the "Face of your Beloved" is the magic key that unlocks all the tiresome chains of live ~ perfect ! BRIAN

Thank you, Brian. This thing I've found overwhelms me. I really don't have the words...
