JESUS took his Followers up a Mountain
and taught them the "Secret of Happiness"
You are HAPPY when you reach the end of your rope
because then you can let go and let GOD take over !
You are HAPPY when you have lost what is most dear to you
only then will you appreciate the love of your Friends
You are HAPPY when you are content with who you are
and what you have. Godliness with contentment is perfection !
You are HAPPY when you have an appreciation of the Spiritual Dimension.
You are HAPPY when you love and care for others.
You can bring LIGHT and LOVE into a very very dark World
You are HAPPY when you are pure and good on the inside
then you are able to care and provide for those on the outside !
You are HAPPY when you enable people to cooperate and to
live together peacefully. There is always enough when we share.
You are HAPPY if you suffer persecution for doing what is right !
You are REALLY HAPPY when you are IN HARMONY WITH GOD ~ AMEN

I'm here with my Literature book opened studying about poetry. I found that the didactic poem is a poem written to state a message or teach a body of knowledge. I believe your poem The Secret of Happiness fits this category.

I love this, Brian! The Sermon on the Mount is one of my favorite Bible stories. (Of course, I have a lot of favorite scripture stories...)
I especially liked the first part, where you said that you are happy when you reach the end of your rope, because them God can take over. I never thought of it that way, but it is so true.

Thanks ANA you will find there are lots of "Spiritual Members" on MPS which makes it a nice site to be on ! It is my experience that when Members post a Spiritual Poem it is treated with reverence and respect ~ not ridicule ~ like on some other sites. We do have to let go and let God.
