The forest was deep, deafly-quiet
When first I stumbled almost blindly through;
A dense darkness, engulfed me
Causing my heart to faint;
Her embrace as death hands;
Like a sarcophagus, too, her ghastly grasp;
But all things else about its scary form
From gnarled branches sticking out;
To creepy whispers, rustling leaves,
To haunt, to frighten, grabbing me.

GRACIAS ROBERTO ~ For a great TONE POEM. Poems based on visuals are always challenging and rewarding. There is always a symbiosis between the Pen and the Paintbrush or the Camera MAS POR FAVOR ! Please check my latest FUSION ~ MY FAVORITE TIPPLE ~ Hasta luego BRIAN
