Why do you treat me this way?
Is it because I exist?
Is it because I'm different?
Is it because I'm happy and it makes you cringe?
Why do you treat me this way?
Is it because when I try to be nice to you, even when you treat me less, you take that as me humiliating you?
Is it because everyday you see me in your presence, all you do is fill yourself with hate and believe that telling me to take my own life will solve one little problem that you have with yourself?
Why do you treat me this way?
Calling me these horrific names
Believing that ruining my life is an achievement not a disgrace
Spreading lies to hunt me down
Making sure I'm weak enough to strike at the right moment so you can finally get your wish
But in the end
What was the purpose?
Why do you treat me this way?
That's one puzzle I can never solve to this day

WELCOME SKY ~ Thanks for a very poignant and personal first poem. When we are growing up we get treated in all different kinds of ways and as you say ~ we can never understand why. I always treat my Ladies with a lot of TLC and they appreciate that. Some Men treat their ladies rough (and vice-versa) because they are shy or jealous and don't know how to act. If we act different or are too happy some can't cope with that. What i really hate is when I really care for a Girl and she acts "bad" towards me and I never know why !
