Light

Soldier leaves to go to war
Smiles as he walks out the door
"Will leave the light on for you daddy til you come home"
Remember your never alone
His child hugs him goodbye
He tries so hard not to cry
"I drew a picture for you daddy so you won't forget"
It was a house with the light on and his child outside
His heart his breaking inside
Taking a break from patrol
Looking at his childs picture while sitting in a hole
Closes his eyes, he can see the light
Renewed his strength to never give up the fight
Battles won, its time to go home
As he pulls up to his house he see the light on
Tears fill his eyes, and a smile comes to his face.
The light on I come home to my happy place
