Remembering 911

a poet

This weekend we all remember,

What happened on that horrible day,

We think about those victims,

And we continue to pray.

We've seen all of those heroes,

Who gave it their all,

They tried to get to the people,

Even as the buildings began to fall.

We need to honor all of them,

Because they remind us of who we are,

And we will never forget,

Because this country is the greatest by far.

I was very moved by the MEMORIAL to the 3000+ victims of 911. I was in Iowa when it hhappened and we will never forget the unbelievable horror as it unfolded. A new Tower has been built and that is "The Ameriacn Way" ~ Knocked down ~ but never knocked out ! I liked the memorial because it listed the names and nationalities of the victims and a rose is placed on the Birthday of each one and there are about TEN BIRTHDAYS each day ! Also i felt that the starkness of the water flowing into two holes is both a symbol of continuous and everlasting memory and that the "War on Terror" is still raging ! Thanks for caring BRIAN (UK ~ 33).
