I was a Member of the Scout Movement
and these were the TEN SCOUT LAWS.
These excellent personal characteristics
are sadly missing in Today's Society !
TRUSTY ~ Can I be trusted in all cicumstances
LOYAL ~ I am Loyal to my Family ~ Friends ~ Queen & Country
HELPFUL ~ I am an Encourager and support all Members of MPS
BROTHERLY ~ I treat everybody as my BROTHERS and SISTERS
COURTEOUS ~ We should show respect to everybody we meet
KIND ~ The BIBLE teaches us "To be kind to everybody" AMEN
OBEDIENT ~ A rebellious spirit causes CHAOS in Society
CHEERFUL ~ Count your Blessings and you will be HAPPY
THRIFTY ~ DEBT is the biggest cause of stress ~ keep solvent !
PURE IN BODY & MIND ~ Difficult in a Permissive Society
but possible ~ with GOD's help ~ to live PURE day by day !

- Comment from author about the poem: The SCOUT MOVEMENT was started in 1908 by Baden Powell who had fought in the Boer War. It started with a CAMP on Brownsea Island in England near London. He believed CAMPING (real camping with wood fires ~ sleeping on the ground ~ water from streams etc ~ developed the TEN CHARACTERISTICS listed in the poem. For a Camp to run successfully it has to be a caring sharing Community. Every one in their place and a place and a role for everyboidy. Camping has always been an integral part of Scouting ~ Ecological Camping in harmoiny with the environment. We do not damage the environment and leave NO LITTER. We encourage the CUB SCOUTS (BEAVERS) and the BROWNIES (RAINBOWS) to attend Camp from the age of SIX and learn how to make a fire ~ cook and obey basic hygiene rules etc. "Who hath smelt wood smoke at twilight ? Who hath heard the birch logs burning ? Who is quick to read the noises of the Night ? Let them follow with the others ~ where the Young Ones feet are turning ~ To the camps of known desire and prooved delight". Were you a Member of the Scouts & Guides ? Love Brian X)X

Never was a scout myself, but do follow those rules in my life
AMEN TONY ~ The TEN Scout Laws are very similar to the FRUIT of the SPIRIT ~ so a GOOD CHRISTIAN (like you) would be seeking to live a GOOD LIFE like a Good Scout or Guide ~ Thanks BRIAN

These are 10 very valuable life characteristics to follow by! Finding balance in these can help one live a fulfilling life. Thank you for sharing .
