New (Keep Me Close)

Doll in Wonderland

There is this normalcy

Beginning to bloom

In our routine, becoming routine

Your love

Is a comfy couch I rest my head on

It's sitting on the porch talking while it rains

It's laughing like little children

And holding my hand

Asking, "Did you sleep okay?"

Wow, I really did sleep okay,

Something I never do

You compliment me

You kiss me

And play beautiful music for me

I see glimpses of you afraid of losing me

Wanting so badly to build a life with me

I could see

Us making a life

If I don't fuck this all up,

Like I always do

Just keep holding me close

Even if I struggle

Keep kind hands and a tender heart

And we just might make it

Through the storms in my own heart

With you, I can see the sun shining

Beautiful
