Beautiful Agony

mcook1221

Our eyes met. It was innocence and destruction, quickly pulling me into your seduction. Empty promises, false dreams, my entire being painfully screams. Ripped apart, mangled heart, everything I am slowly dies. I struggled to find any truth in your lies. How could you do this? I only want to feel alive. Break free, misery. You can't possibly cause me more injury. Out of sight, out of mind, letting go with all my might. Broken pieces, mending soul, I will be the one in control. New beginning, full of hope, eliminating you is my way to cope. Innocence erased, feelings embraced, I now have incredible strength. Rugged edges, tainted eyes, I'm in charge I will survive.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I'm a survivor of extreme mental, verbal, and emotion abuse. Writing this poem gave me my mental freedom back 2 months after walking away for good from the most toxic person I had ever met.

Thanks you for sharing ANGEL ~ I trust you found it cathartic. WELCOME to MPS which is a caring site and we seek to support each other in our poetry and in our lives. Whn we experience negativity in our lives and love it is destructive but it can also strengthen us as you say "I now have incredible strength .......... I'm in charge I will survive" That is my experience also. Partners can be very callous and unfeeling. Thinking of you praying for you ~ Yours BRIAN .
