THIS PHOTO IS FROM SKIPSEA IN N E ENGLAND ~ MOST
OF THE COAST ROAD HAS ALREADY BEEN ERODED AWAY
C OASTAL EROSION is very serious in the UK
O ver 1000 buildings are in danger from the Sea
A ll around our coast the Sea Level is rising
S ea Level is rising due to Global Warming !
T here is a mile of rugged coast in the UK for
A five square mile area of land ! This is the ......
L argest ratio of coast to land (1: 5) in the World !
E very building within 2 miles of the coast is in DANGER
R emedy is to reduce the Greenhouse Gases (CO2 etc) NOW
O ne day the whole of the UK could sink without trace !
S ome of these Coastal Houses are owned by Pensioners
I find this sad ~ They retired to be by the Sea not under it.
O nly massive coastal defences and CO2 reduction can stop it.
N ever before has the UK faced such a mega natural disaster
Thanks for reading ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN XOX

I live in Louisiana USA. Been dealing with it for years. Problem here is dredging , ditches and canals in the wake of oil exploration.
THE LOUISIANA Coastline is about 400 miles so the land area is much bigger than the coast. However ~ as you say ~ soil erosion can be caused by dredging and ditching and mining etc which can also cause Houses to collapse ! Thanks BRIAN
Have many friends who live on every coast of the US and they always tell me that their coastlines are disappearing. Great write
Thanks TONY ~ people love to live near the COAST and in the UK you are never more than 100 miles form the sea. That is why the UK has the greatest NAVY in the World and win so many medals in and on the water in the Olympics. The UK has always been a MARITIME NATION ~ BRIAN
Welcome
Awesome acrostic! And a great message too. I really like it
Thanks SILVER ~ Coastal Erosion is a big global issue ~ we all need to be more GREEN ! I love acrostics ~ especially trying to keep each line of a similar length ! Rhyming Acrostics are more difficult ~ OK Yours BRIAN
