As I close my eyes, I clinch my hands.
With tear filled eyes, I wonder where are my friends.
Behind these bars there's only one that's held tight.
Its the woman I swore to love, each and every night.
She comes to every visit and patiently waits on my calls.
She's the angel that picks me up when I stumble and fall.
Yet she's the woman I put through hell for her to only love me more.
She's the only woman Ill ever love, the woman I adore.
The woman deserves a king for the love to me she has shown.
Yet I apologize for the way I once treated you, If only I would have known.
I thank you Briana NIcole for the person you are today.
If I had it to do all over I'd still choose you to hold my hand along the way.
To my wife Briana From your husband Shawn

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is to my beautiful wife, loving and good mother that she is. I love her unconditonally and nothing will ever change that. She has always been there through the good and bad times

That is so wonderful. Nicely done. She is very lucky!
Thanks for sharing your first poem SHAWN ~ Beautiful ~ a mixture of joy and remorse ! I'm not married but I know how devoted my Mother was and the wives of my Friends. The GOOD BOOK says "The Man who finds a WIFE ~ discovers an excellent treasure" It doe not say the same about Husbands ! Thanks for sharing ~ more please ~ Thanks BRIAN.
