Betrayed

Luis

I don't think you understand the pain of betrayal.
We were in the same sea, but in different boats we took sail.
You said hi, but you really meant bye.
You intentionally broke my heart, why?
I gave you my all, I gave you my best.
But somehow I still feel this heaviness on my chest.
My insecurities give me no peace of mind.
I love you so much, but I'm loving blind.
I get nothing in return.                        I was left so burnt.

WELCOME LUIS ~ Thank for an elegant first poem replete with rhyme and rhythm ~ BUT ~ Such a sad and pained content ! Those of us who are older (I'm 33) have experienced some degree of betrayal from one we loved. We can empathise but yours seems very deep and intense. Your "pain of betrayal" runs very deep. Broken heart ~ heaviness ~ insecurities ~ loving blind ~ left so burnt. It touched me ~ I trust you found it cathartic. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ BRIAN Please check my poems ~ Thanks B
