REJOICE ~ TODAY IS POETRY DAY !

BRIAN & ANGELA

THOUGH  I speak with the tongues of

Men and of Angels but use not Poetry

I am a harsh sounding banging gong

Or I sound like a feeble tinkling cymbal !

Though I have the gift of prophecy

And understand Mysteries and miracles

But cannot speak poetically ~ I am nothing !

Poetry is cathartic and soothing

Poetry is gentle and supportive

Poetry is not proud or iconoclastic

Poetry rejoices in and celebrates Truth

Poetry is supportive and optimistic

Poetry is economical ~ never wastes words

Poetry is eternal ~ Poetry never fails !

There are these three forms of expression

Prose ~ Legal Jargon and of course Poetry

PROSE is stuffy ~ stifling and seriously verbose

LEGAL JARGON is unintelligible and assinine

POETRY is sublime ~ revolutionary and revelationary

The greatest of these is POETRY POETRY POETRY !

Today is INTERNATIONAL POETRY DAY ~ post your poem

This poem is a DODECET (20 lines)  written in free verse ~ OK

Thanks for reading ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN  XOX
